| kind: art contemporary personal Gallery of Eleonora D'Andrea presented from 26 January to 27 March 2011 at its headquarters in Milan, Via Settembrini 26 (upstairs), the young artist Domenico Grenci. Born in Ardmore (RC) in 1981, he graduated from the High School of Locri and subsequently graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. After two years as a tutor at the Academy of Fine Arts, he decided to devote himself fully to painting, leaving the university work. He currently lives and works in Bologna. During his career he has actively participated in workshops and has achieved important Italian and foreign press. Recall Award for his recording Morandi (2005), the SAMP Award (2006) with acquisition work by the Foundation CARISBO, Heavenly Prize (2007) first prize in the Goldener Kentaur in Monaco of Bavaria (2007), the first prize at the May Fiorito in Cento Ferrara (2008) and the Prize of the Arts in Catania. His works are included in many important collections, such as the collection of the aforementioned company and world Tetrapack CARISBO Foundation, which from 2008 he exhibited his works in the lobby of its headquarters in Modena. The exhibition presented here fits perfectly into a path of artistic research that links artist and gallery owner for four years and sees its culmination in the exhibitions presented in the 2010 - 2011: In the past spring in the gallery in Prato, now in Milan and next spring at the Rock Bazzano (BO). Emerging artist of undeniable sensitivity, Domenico Grenci moves on a figurative and off it in an innovative way, using the medium of modern psychology to investigate the hidden behind the faces depicted. Through the use of bitumen applied with a brush, the artist creates humidity zones that expand the color, creating images of vague charges of strength and immediacy of expression. With an accurate linearity, offers perfect harmonies and balances, balanced beauty seen as looking for an intimate experience and aesthetics. Yet these women, the image blurred, are not reassuring, but they are fragile and restless, victims of the canons of female beauty in our media age and the commodification of their own body. The color obtained is made up of various shades of sepia, color that reminds us of the old photographic prints. And it appears to be instantaneous: as the ancient legend of Native Americans claimed that the photograph would steal their souls, so these images seem to be shooting stolen from a person who, abandoning all the defenses, is shown for what it is , in all its nakedness. The painted image ceases to be merely a superficial representation of reality, but urges us to face a shaky nature, which reveals a restless soul suffering and turmoil, which breaks our daily lives pushing us to abandon the mask for to approach the image with the greatest sincerity.
